چکیده
This study presents a new numerical approach using tools developed to perform molecular simulation investigate the wall effect on aggregates and mortar distribution in concrete. Aggregates are represented by spheres interacting via generalized truncated Lennard-Jones potential. allows obtaining particle profiles according reference frame of interest (e.g., confined directions). Then particle-based distributions transformed into continuum volume fractions convolution. Based fraction profiles, transport or mechanical properties estimated Mori-Tanaka scheme from classical homogenization. Results compared experimental work. The method could be used for other applications different fields. In civil engineering, perspectives include aggregate conduct finer analysis, results would extremely relevant prediction water content profile evolution pathologies such as carbonation, corrosion, ISR, etc..

Frictional Strain Hardening-softening in Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Arching Effect
In the current paper the results of a numerical simulation that were verified by a well instrumented experimental procedure for studying the arching effect over a trapdoor in sand is presented. To simulate this phenomenon with continuum mechanics, the experimental procedure is modeled in ABAQUS code using stress dependent hardening in elastic state and plastic strain dependent frictional harden...

today, corrosion in reinforcements is an important issue in many structures, especially those made in off-shore, resulting of reduction of the structural capacity under gravitational and lateral loads. using frp polymer can reduce this effect to some extents. a numerical and experimental investigation has been conducted on three different concrete beams to find out the effect of replacing steel...
متن کاملNondestructive Dynamic Evaluation of a Concrete Reaction Wall—Numerical and Experimental Studies
Proper identification of the modes of vibration of a structure is crucial in order to avoid the condition of resonance under dynamic loading conditions. A combination of numerical simulation, physical experimentation, and waveform analysis was employed in order to obtain a dynamic evaluation of the reaction wall for the Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation NEES large scale testing labo...
